A response to Tales from the Hood – The Aid Blog Forum: CSR

I teamed up with the guys behind WhyDev.org this week (Brendan Rigby and Weh Yeoh) to respond to the first topic, Corporate Social Responsibility, on the Aid Blog Forum initiated by Tales from the Hood (A humanitarian aid blog).

As a CSR practitioner my perspectives around corporate and NGO sector engagement are not as critical as some of those I hear coming from the aid sector. To me the debate of whether or not NGOs should engage with CSR is passe. The question is how this ‘engagement’ and ‘partnership’ can occur in an effective and transparent way while staying true to the principles of humanitarianism and sustainability.
